Larry Lee Sopoci, 57, of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Sioux City, died Sunday, June 24, 2012, at a Sioux Falls hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Riverside United Methodist Church in Sioux City. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Larry was born on Nov. 5, 1954, in Sioux City, the son of Frank and Margaret Sopoci. He attended Sioux City Schools. He was employed as a carpenter most recently with Gage Brothers Concrete Products Inc. He moved to Sioux Falls from Sioux City in 2001.

He was united in marriage with Georgia Vanderham in Spink, S.D., on Aug. 30, 2008.

Larry was an avid golfer, who also enjoyed cooking and eating. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Abu Bekr Shrine Temple in Sioux City.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia of Sioux Falls; his mother, Margaret Sopoci of Sioux City; two sons, Tim Sopoci and Tom Sopoci of Texas; daughter, Erica of Texas; two stepdaughters, Amy Gage (Matt) of Sioux Falls, and Amanda Berg ( Jared) of Columbus, Neb.; two sisters, Cindy Langseth of Sioux City and Linda Post of Washington; a sister, Nancy Lee (Bob) of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; and six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the family for designation at a later date.
