SIOUX CITY -- Victor E. Perry, 90, formerly of Sioux City and Willsboro, N.Y., presently residing at Saranac Village at Will Rogers adult residence in Saranac Lake, N.Y., died on Jan. 5, 2012, at the Adirondack Medical Center after a short illness.

Services will be in the spring of 2012 at St. Philip's Church in Willsboro, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. At Mr. Perry's request, there will be no public calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Huestis Funeral Home of Willsboro.

Victor was born in Saranac, N.Y. on Dec. 30, 1921, the son of Edward Joseph and Sadie Theresa (Gonyea) Perry. He joined the U.S. Army in 1943 and served his country honorably until 1965 when he retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Major. During his military career he had been stationed in New Mexico, Cuba, Florida, Guam, California, Alaska, South Dakota, Illinois, Nebraska and Iowa, where he mainly flew B18's and B39's.

After retiring from the Air Force, he opened a flying service and the Sioux Air Ambulance Service in Sioux City, which he ran for 24 years. During his military and civilian careers, he acquired more than 30,000 flying hours. He was also a member of the K of C No. 7461 for more than 55 years, the BPOE, Keeseville No. 2072, the V.F.W., Keeseville No. 125 and the American Legion for more than 65 years.

Mr. Perry is survived by a sister, Rita Sherkota of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; stepchildren, James Brunet of Yuma, Ariz., Thomas G. Brunet of Plattsburgh, Donald Brunet of Plattsburgh, Rodney Brunet of Moores, N.Y., Betty Ann Becker of Rochester, N.Y., and Janice Kraft of Kennesaw, Ga.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; daughter, Mary Ann Perry; his second wife, Bertha A. (Monette) Perry in 2006; two brothers, Bernard Perry and George Perry; and a sister, Lila Perry.
