Ruby Lucille Johnson, 89, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at her home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Sioux City. The Rev. Matthew Miller will officiate. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Ruby was born March 21, 1922, on a farm in rural Lawton, Iowa, the daughter of Willard and Maude (Joseph) McNaughton. She was raised on a farm in the Lawton area and graduated from Lawton High School. She attended Iowa State College for two years. After college, she worked at Morningside Savings Bank in Sioux City.

On Dec. 21, 1947, she married Douglas Johnson in Sioux City. After her marriage she worked as a bookkeeper for her husband's company, Johnson Automatic Music Company. She worked there until they sold the company in 1990.

She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church and the Isis Chapter of the Eastern Star, where she had served as a Worthy Matron. She enjoyed painting but what was most important to her was spending time with her husband of 64 years, her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas of Sioux City; two sons, Dr. David Johnson and his wife, Janet of Great Falls, Mont., and Dr. Paul Johnson and his wife, Patrice of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; six grandchildren, Erika Peterson, Wendy Rykowski, Nikolina, Luke, Eric, and Annika Johnson; and two great grandchildren, Kaylee and Jesimae Rykowski.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters, Richard, Margie, Raynard and Dorothy; and two infant sisters.

A memorial has been established in her name at First Presbyterian Church.
