SIOUX CITY | Beverly V. Van Buskirk, 95, of Sioux City passed away Monday, May 21, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Kenneth Leischner, interim pastor of First Congregational United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Beverly was born Aug. 30, 1916 in Hawarden, Iowa. She was the daughter of Que and Nina (Handy) Haines. She grew up in Hawarden and graduated from Hawarden High School.

She married Ira Raymond Van Buskirk on March 12, 1939 in Sioux City. He died Dec. 11, 1992 in Sioux City. Beverly and Raymond lived in Hawarden until moving to Sioux City in 1957. They spent their summers at Lake Okoboji and winters in Florida.

Beverly enjoyed reading, listening to music, flower gardening around the house and traveling with Ray to Associated General Contractor conventions and to visit relatives across the country. She enjoyed spending holidays with family and friends.

Survivors include three sons, Ira Raymond Van Buskirk Jr. and his wife Donna, Ronald Lee Van Buskirk and his wife Ti, and Gregory Lynn Van Buskirk and his wife Jill, all of Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Joan Walker of Sioux City; three sisters, Donna Peterson of Sioux City, Dolores Westcott and her husband Rusty of Hawarden, and Barb Kelly of Hawarden; six grandchildren, Ira Raymond Van Buskirk, Brian Van Buskirk, Zachary Van Buskirk, Garrett Van Buskirk, Cindy Gruis and her husband Marty, and Cheri McCline and her husband Chris; six great-grandchildren, Cody Van Buskirk, Ashley and Haley Gruis, Cyndi and Hannah Sulzbach and Connor McCline.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and sisters, Arlene Case, Nina Montgomery, Que Haines, Norman Haines and Carole Popken.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Iowa State University Foundation.
