Funeral services for John Francis Mohrhauser, 79, Mapleton, were held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. November 29, 1967, at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Danbury. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Walter funeral home.

Mr. Mohrhauser died Sunday night in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

He was born November 8, 1888, at Danbury and married Anna Huppke January 28, 1913 at Danbury. The couple lived at Danbury until 1930 when they moved to Mapleton. She died in February 1959. He was a long-time employee of Haubrick Constrution Co., worked for the State Highway Commission for several years was employed by the Council Oak store at Mapleton and in later years was a postal employee, hauling mail from the depot to the post office.

Pallbearers were Arvin Uhl, Kenneth Uhl, Larry Uhl, Darrell Mohrhauser, Louie Hinrickson, Jr. and Mike Thul.

Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Harold Smith of Atascadero, Cal, Mrs. Louie Hinricksen, Danbury, Mrs. Leo Uhl and Mrs. Anna Marie Thul, both of Sioux City, Mrs. Walter Ruchti of South Sioux City and Miss Joann Mohrhauser of Mapleton; 3 sons, Joseph of Minneapolis, Jeff of South Sioux City and Carl of Mapleton, a sister, Sister M. Christina of Dubuque; 22 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren.
