Josephine K. Meuleveld, 100, Sunrise Manor, died Sunday, September 13, 1992 at the nursing home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. James Bruch officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with a vigil wake service at 7:30 p.m. at Berkemier Funeral Home. The family will be present 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Meuleveld, the former Josephine Katherine Lutgen was born May 28, 1892, in Lilengrad, Luxembourg. She came to the United States, Le Mars, Iowa and Sioux City in 1912. She married Jacob Meuleveld May 30, 1914, in Sioux City. The couple made their home in Sioux City. He died October 24, 1974.

Mrs. Meuleveld was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Jacob Jr. and Pat Meuleveld of Sioux City and Thomas and Molly Meuleveld of Eugene, Ore.; a daughter and her husband, Jo Ann and John Mays of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Paul; a daughter, Dorothy Knight; a granddaughter, Julie Meuleveld; eight sisters; and one brother.

Pallbearers will be David Mays, Donald Heilbuth, Kathy Verdoorn, Frank Verdoorn, Gregory Mansfield and Michael Van Maanen.
