Services held for Ramona Barnes Saturday

Ramona Kusian Barnes, 88, of Savannah, Missouri, formerly of Moville died Tuesday, January 16, 2001, in Savannah.

Services were at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2001 at Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville. Burial was in Arlington Township Cemetery.

Honorary casketbearers were Steve, Mark, Chad and Cort Chandler and William Kammerer.

Mrs. Barnes was born August 17, 1912, in Sioux City, the daughter of Joe and Ethylen (Bryant) Kinsella. She was raised in Sioux City, where she graduated from Catholic school.

She married Willard Chandler, who preceded her in death. She married A.J. Kusian Jr., who preceded her in death. She later married Lloyd Barnes, who also preceded her in death.

She moved to Moville, where she and her husband owned and operated Krusies Café. In the mid 1980’s, she moved to Columbus, Nebraska and in 1991 she moved to Missouri.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include two sons, Willard “Bill” Chandler and his wife, June, of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Thomas Chandler of Derby, Kansas; a daughter and her husband, Mary Lou and Don Cain of Burwell, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Schultz, and three sisters, Marie Bolden, Dorothy Kennedy and Pat Smith.
