Services for Wayne Rumohr held May 24

Wayne John Rumohr, 73, of Moville died Monday, May 21, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services were Thursday, May 24, 2001 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, with the Rev. Scott Meier officiating. Burial was in Arlington Township Cemetery. Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Janice Schnaible was soloist, Betty Rhue was organist.

Honorary pallbearers were the ten grandchildren.

Mr. Rumohr was born November 28, 1927, in Moville, Iowa, the son of John and Millie (Zellmer) Rumohr. He was raised in Moville, and attended school at Arlington 4 and graduated from Moville High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 stationed in Japan.

He married Clara Sargent on December 3, 1950, in Moville. He farmed near Moville until retiring in 1986. He was employed as a substitute postal worker for three years. Following his retirement, the couple moved to Rogers, Ark., and later to Galesburg, Ill., in 1989. Beginning in 1989, he was employed as a manager of a Motel 6 for five years. They returned to Moville in 1994.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed woodworking, gardening and baking.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter and her husband, Cindy and Mark Coyne of Moville; four sons, Ronald and his wife Mitzi of Advance, Mo., Dennis and his wife, Julie and Scott and his wife, Becky, all of Moville, and Roger of Glenwood, Iowa; and 10 grandchildren, Chad Coyne, Therese Case, Darren Roper, John Rose, Sam, Denise, Jacob and Elizabeth Rumohr and Kasey Willson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Daryl and Milton.
