Richard A Rawson, 57, Sioux City, died Tuesday, February 28, 1995, at his residence following a short illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel with the Rev. Duane churchman of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery at Moville, Iowa, with military graveside rites by the American Legion. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Rawson, a lifelong Sioux City resident was born June 5, 1937, in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He married Marilyn Hepler in June 1958 in Los Angeles. He was employed by Meyer Beef as a beef lugger and later as a truck driver. He continued as a truck driver for 25 years, working for All American Trucking, H&H Trucking and most recently Burson Trucking.

Mr. Rawson was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Lonnie and Tammy and Michael and Pamela, all of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Janelle and Douglas Niebaum of Sioux City; two brothers, Gale of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Donald of Omaha, and six grandchildren, Lexi, Lance, Kyle, Jennifer, Bradley and Richie Rawson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cecelia and two sisters Daris and Doris.
