Moville, Iowa—Cleone H. Wright, 80, of Moville died Tuesday, February 7, 1995, at Valley Lutheran Hospital in Mesa, Ariz. following a short illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Moville United Methodist Church in Moville with the Rev. Orrin T. Potter officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Township Cemetery. McCulloch Funeral Home of Moville is in charge of arrangements.

He was born August 16, 1914 in Moville. He graduated from Moville High School in 1931 and attended the National Business Training College in Sioux City. He served in the United States Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart. He married Vesta Wahlberg in 1935. She died in 1963. He married Verla Guthridge November 15, 1964 in Moville. He was a lifelong resident of Moville, spending his last 10 winters in Arizona. He worked for Knapp and Spencer in Sioux City and owned and operated Wright’s Hardware in Moville for 36 years.

Mr. Wright was a member of the Moville Chamber of Commerce and the Moville United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Wink-Sparks Post 303, American Legion of Moville for 50 years. He served on the school board in Moville and was a well known pianist and member of dance bands throughout the 1930’s and 1940’s.

Survivors include his wife, Verla; two daughters and their husbands, Lorna and Richard Treptow of Minneapolis, Minn., and Leana and her husband Michael Place of Denver, Iowa; three grandchildren, Lesley Hackett and Brian Treptow, both of Minneapolis, Minn., and Linda Biery of Pittsburgh, Pa., and a great-granddaughter.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Clare.

Pallbearers will be Randy and Greg Wright, Larry Guthridge, Ronald Manly, Neal Everhart and Jon Wahlberg.
