Elsie F. Kindell, 91, of Sioux City died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel with the Rev. Alex T. Washington officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Anthon, Iowa. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. today, with family present 2 to 4 p.m., at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Mrs. Kindell was born April 25, 1910, in Anthon, the daughter of Henry and Mabel (Coyle) Arnold. She grew up in Anthon and graduated from Anthon High School in 1928. She attended Morningside College and earned her teaching certification. She taught for three and a half years in different country schools around Anthon. She married Sherman A. Kindell on June 30, 1932, at Maywood, Ill., on the west side of Chicago, and lived there for 54 years. Mr. Kindell died Jan. 27, 1987. After his death, Elsie moved to Sioux City.

Survivors include a son, David Kindell of Chama, N.M.; a brother, Jay Arnold of Anthon; two grandchildren, Karen and her husband, Howard Agster Jr., and David Kindell Jr., all of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a great-grandson, Samuel Agster of Las Vegas.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Ruth McGary, Hazel Mullicane and Madge Arnold.

Pallbearers will be Randy Arnold, Robert Arnold, Jack Harrison, David Kindell and Rick Arnold.
