Salix, Iowa—Clifford G. Lorenzen, 77, of Salix died Sunday November 13, 1988 in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Christy Morningside Funeral Home in Sioux City. The Rev. R.P. Wieling of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Salix will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City with military graveside rites conducted by Post 54, Disabled American Veterans. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Mr. Lorenzen was born June 14, 1911, in Bronson, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Bronson and lived there until 1937 when he moved to Sioux City. He lived in Akron from1957 to 1976 and then moved to Brown’s Lake at Salix. He was employed at Cudahy Packing Plant in Sioux City until the plant closed. He then worked at Armour & Co. until its closing. He farmed in the Akron and Westfield area until retiring in 1974.

Mr. Lorenzen was a lifetime member of DAV Post 54 of Sioux City.

Survivors include his wife, Doris; a son, Tom Lorenzen of Hawarden; two brothers, Ervin Lorenzen and Maurice Lorenzen, both of Sioux City; two sisters, Lydia Klaassen of Worthington, Minn., and Ann Mann of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Louisa Lorenzen of Sioux City, Tina Wilson of Lincoln, Neb., Kevin Lorenzen of Kansas City, Mo., and Scott Lorenzen of Hawarden and one great-grandchild, Blu Wilson of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
