Funeral Services Held For Patricia Zaleta

Patricia Marian Ann Zaleta, 54, of Sioux City died Monday, June 22, 1987 in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 1987 in Kingsley United Methodist Church in Kingsley, Iowa. The Rev. Lester Hesseltine officiated. Burial was in the Kingsley Cemetery under the direction of the Dickson-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley.

Mrs. Zaleta, the former Patricia Heacock was born February 6, 1933, the daughter of Elmer and Edna Woods Heacock, in Pierson, Iowa,. She moved to Holly Springs, Iowa in 1948 and graduated from Holly Springs High School in 1950. She married Mervin Hobbs September 10, 1950. The couple lived at Hornick, Iowa until 1956. She moved to San Diego, California in 1956 and to Sioux City in 1966. She married John T. O’Leary August 2, 1972. They lived at Iowa City until 1976 when she returned to Sioux City. On June 25, 1982, she married Alfred Zaleta. She attended Omaha City College, Amarillo State College, Morningside College, San Diego City College and University of Iowa. She was office manager and bookkeeper for many years at Siouxland Council on Alcoholism and Council on Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence.

She was a member of Coralville (Iowa) United Methodist Church, was active in Methodist Homebuilders and Bible School. She was a Girl Scout troop leader and Den Mother in Cub Scouts.

Survivors include three sons, Mervin Hobbs of Des Moines, Dr. Monte Hobbs of San Diego and Mark Hobbs of Sioux City; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Lisa) Anderson of Sioux City; her mother, Edna Heacock of Kingsley; a brother Dr. James Heacock of Circleville, Ohio, and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.
