Elena M Corrie, 97, Countryside Retirement Home, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 1988, in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Elliott Creek Presbyterian Church in Bronson, Iowa, with the Rev. Robert E. Peters officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.

Mrs. Corrie, the former Elena M. Lorentzen, was born Feb. 23, 1891, in Greene County, Iowa. She received her primary education in Greene County before moving to Sac City where she received her secondary education at the Sac City Institute. She married Paul E. Corrie Feb. 28, 1912, in Greene County. He died in February 1953. She had lived in Sioux City since 1953 and worked as a housemother in the Florence Crittenton Home for 10 years, retiring in 1963.

Mrs. Corrie attended Elliott Creek Presbyterian Church for many years.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Betty Corrie of Bronson; a daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Alfred J. Jones of Early, Iowa, and a daughter, Shirley Olson of Sioux City; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established in her name.
