Mrs. George F. Jacobs, 50, 2915 S. Glass, co-owner and operator of Nutrition Village, 5412 Morningside Ave. died Monday in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Morningside Lutheran Church. The Revs. Neal S. Johnson and M.L. Jacobson will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today in the funeral chapel.

Mrs. Jacobs, the former Betty L. Markusen, was born Nov. 6, 1930 in Cushing. She was reared at Correctionville where she attended school and was graduated from high school in 1948. She was married Aug. 21, 1949 at Correctionville. She had been a resident of Sioux City since 1959.
She was co-owner of Nutrition Village for the past two years. She was a member of Sacajawea Chapter of A.B.W.A., the National Nutritional Foods Assoc., Morningside Lutheran Church and currently was serving as church council member. She also was a past officer of the MLCW and a member of the St. Luke’s Medical Center Auxiliary.

Survivors include the widower; one son, Mark of Sioux City; one daughter, Mrs. Jody Kramer of Sioux City; her mother and stepfather, Frances and Charles Peterson of Hartley; one sister, Mrs. Kaye Thomas of Correctionville and four grandchildren.

A memorial is being established in Mrs. Jacobs’ name at Morningside Lutheran Church.
