Funeral Services Held Thursday For Vera I. Custer

Funeral services for Vera I. Custer, 65, of Moville were held Thursday July 7, 1988 at 10:00 a.m. in the Moville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Marvin Ceynar officiated. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, under the direction of the McCulloch Funeral Home of Moville.

Janice Schnaible, vocalist, sang “He Touched Me” and “One Day At A Time.” Dan Castor, vocalist, sang “In The Garden.” Doris McElrath was organist.

Honorary casketbearers were Messrs. Jeff and Jim Custer, Alan and Gregory Castor, Howard and Richard Henningfield.

Casketbearers were Messrs. Kenny Frederickson, Cliff Tomlinson, Richard Ellison, Scott Miller, Russ Spotts and Don Hobbs.

Mrs. Custer, the former Vera Miller, was born December 3, 1922, the daughter of Manly and Etta Mae Newberry Miller. She married George Custer October 20, 1940 in Sioux City.

She was active in 4-H and church activities, was Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star and a member of the Moville United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Custer died Monday July 4, 1988 in a Sioux City hospital.

Survivors include her husband; a son Norman G. of Lawton; a daughter Mrs. Dan (Judy) Castor of Lake Benton, Minnesota; two brothers, Norman (Bud) Miller of Lawton and Ronald Miller of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota and four grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
