Lawton, Iowa—Mildred R. Norton, 85, of Lawton died Tuesday, January 16, 1996 at a nursing home in Redlands, Calif.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton with Dr. Robert E. Peters officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. today at McCulloch Funeral Home, Moville.

Mrs. Norton was born January 11, 1911, in Schaller, the daughter of Herman and Wilhelmina (Link) Schneider. She was raised in Wheatland, Iowa and graduated from Wheatland High School. She earned a teaching degree from Iowa State Teachers College. She moved to Lawton in about 1935. She married B. Ellwood Norton June 24, 1936, in Wheatland. He died September 29, 1989, in Sioux City. She had taught school in Lawton for several years.

Mrs. Norton was a member of Community Presbyterian Church, Lawton.

Survivors include a daughter, Dr. Ruth Norton and her husband, Jack Moskal of Redlands, Calif,; a granddaughter, Brenna Wall; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Norton of Council Bluffs; and a sister, Frances Schneider of Wheatland.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth.
