Marjorie “Sarge” Nichols, 73, of Sioux City died Thursday, September 28, 1995 at a local hospital following a brief illness.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Banner Township Cemetery in Lawton, Iowa, with the Rev. Robert E. Peters of the Community Presbyterian Church of Lawton officiating. There will be closed casket visitation 7:30 to 9 p.m. today, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at the McCulloch Funeral Home in Moville, Iowa.

Mrs. Nichols, the former Marjorie Robinson, was born March 4, 1922, in Bronson, Iowa, the daughter of Wallace and Beulah Robinson. She was a graduate of Lawton Community Schools. She married John Nichols March 4, 1941, in Dakota City. He died March 25, 1972. Mrs. Nichols lived in Lawton and the Sioux City area her entire life. She was a homemaker, and also owned and operated the Variety Store in Lawton and worked for Lawton Community Schools.

Mrs. Nichols was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton.

Survivors include four sons, James Fred and his wife Anzonetta of Hornick, Iowa, Jack E. of San Antonio, Texas, Gerald D. of California and Phillip W. and his wife Lisa of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Faith, Gail, Hope and Jeffrey, five great-grandchildren; five sisters and three brothers.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two infant sisters and a brother Duane.

Pallbearers will be Hattie and Jeanne Jones, Florence Boetger, Dale Bedford and Harold “Plush” Robinson, JoAnn Gunsolly and Beverly “Pert” Powell.
