.MOVILLE, Iowa -- Robert Gene Jensen, 72, of Moville died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton, Iowa, with the Rev. Wayne Peach officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville.

Mr. Jensen was born Feb. 11, 1929, in Rodney, Iowa, the son of Einar and Merle (Hoxie) Jensen. He was raised in Rodney and attended school in Rodney. He graduated from Smithland (Iowa) High School.

He married Carolyn Christman on Feb. 10, 1950, in Rodney. He farmed near Mapleton, Iowa, and then near Moville before farming in the Lawton area. He retired and they moved into Moville in 1993.

He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife of Moville; three sons and their wives, Eugene "Yogi" and Cindy of Moville, Bryan and Paula of Elgin, Neb., and Robert and Patricia of Moville; a sister, June Wells of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Norman Jensen of Sibley, Iowa; and six grandchildren, James, Andrew, Shawn, Anthony, Aaron and Sarah.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Artie Jensen.
