Ruth G. Dickson, 90, of Sioux City died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Gary Bode officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery, Lawton, Iowa. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Ruth was born June 17, 1912, in Ponca, Neb., the daughter of John P. and Chloe E. (Amick) Nichols. She was raised in the Jackson, Neb., area and attended school in Jackson and South Sioux City.

She married Theodore E. "Ted" Dickson on Sept. 26, 1931, in Sioux City. She worked for Belles Hess and in the drug department of Goldfine's Department Store. Mr. Dickson died Oct. 23, 1981, in Sioux City.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Christian Women's circle of the church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and crocheting. She was a excellent seamstress.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, Doug and Mavis of Sioux City, and Ron and Betty of Woodbridge, Va.; a daughter and her husband, Sandy and John Pietrusiewicz of Pasco, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Genevieve Green of Biloxi, Miss.

She also was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.

Pallbearers will be Bob Hickson, Jerry Rich, Jamey Dickson, Justin Dickson, Dave Hunt and Warren Spencer.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland, Siouxland Regional Cancer Center or Grace Lutheran Church.
