LAWTON, Iowa -- Irvin Ernest Ludwig, 91, of Lawton died Monday, June 10, 2002, at Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center in Correctionville, Iowa.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton, with the Rev. Wayne Peach officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville, Iowa.

Mr. Ludwig was born Dec. 4, 1910, in Lawton, the son of Oscar and Helen (Tiarks) Ludwig. He was a lifetime farmer, residing on the Ludwig century farm.

He married Faye Wilson on July 14, 1930.

He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church, where he served on many boards and sang in the choir. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Abu Bekr Shrine and Sioux City Consistory. He was a charter member of Western Iowa Telephone Association. He served on the Lawton School board for many years and was a charter member of Western Iowa Tech Community College, where he served as board president from 1971 to 1984.

Survivors include two sons, Milton E. Ludwig of Lawton, and Tom Ludwig and his wife, Linda of Johnston, Iowa; a daughter and her husband, Shirley and Allen Anderson of San Mateo, Calif.; a brother, Adolph Ludwig of Mesa, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Terry Ludwig and his wife, Paula of Lawton, Perry Ludwig and his wife, Babby of Lawton, Jerry Ludwig of Lawton, Michelle Anderson of Sunnyvale, Calif., Sandy Anderson of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Mathew Ludwig and his wife, Sally of Cherokee, Iowa; six great-grandchildren, Jamie, Camie and her husband, Jason, Terah, Travis, Kathryn and Carolyn Ludwig; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a daughter-in-law, Betty Ludwig; and two brothers, Fred and Julius Ludwig.
