SIOUX CITY -- William Joseph "Will" Young Dickes, 15, of Rochester, Minn. died Monday, March 7, 2011, at his residence following a long and brave battle with leukemia. Blessed be his memory.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Catholic Church, 1114 Third Street, in Rochester, with the Rev. Tim Reker officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, in Rochester. Visitation will resume 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Will, the son of Steven and Loretta (Walding, formerly of Sioux City) Dickes, was born March 2, 1996, in Kyonggi-do, South Korea. He joined the Dickes family on July 27, 1996. He was a ninth-grade student at Century High School.

Will enjoyed snowboarding, skateboarding, fishing, video games, music, drumming, and especially spending time with his friends. He was a Boy Scout and earned the rank of recommended black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Will is survived by his parents, Steven and Loretta Dickes; his sister, Elizabeth; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Bonnie Dickes of Mason City, Iowa; maternal grandfather, Edward Walding of Rochester; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Claire (Legerski) Walding; and his uncles, William Anderson and Charles Halgren.
