Kathryn B. Johnson, 80, Countryside Retirement Home, died Thursday, December 28, 1989, at her residence after a brief illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday Morningside Presbyterian Church, With the Rev. Arthur K. Beumler officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-9 Monday with family present from 7 p.m. at Nelson-Berger-Morningside Chapel.

Mrs. Johnson, the former Kathryn Bernice Kingsbury, was born Feb. 7, 1909, in Sioux City, the daughter of Howard and Mary (Dula) Kingsbury. She attended East High School and married Harry Glen Johnson here Oct 3, 1928. She owned and operated the Bronson Café foe several years and the couple farmed in the Bronson area until moving to Sioux City in 1984. Mr. Johnson died here July 13, 1989.

She was a member of Morningside Presbyterian Church and the Royal Neighbors of America, where she served as the recorder for several years.

Survivors include three sons, Conrad C. Johnson of Sioux City, Howard F of LaVerne, Calif and Donald H of Norwalf, Calf., two daughters Mary (Mrs. Dean) Schager of Sioux City and Joyce (Mrs. Robert) Alcorn of Walnut Grove, Minn., her step-mother, Mable Kingsbury of Sioux City; three sisters, Olive Langstaff of Scotsdale, Ariz., Shirley (Mrs. Don) Rhoades of West Des Moines, Iowa and Ruth Graham of Ft. Worth, Texas; 25 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
