Shirley L. Barrows, 62, 1029 27th St. died unexpectedly Saturday, December 23, 1989 in a Sioux City hospital.

The body was cremated and there will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. The Rev. Richard Sitzmann, associate pastor of St. Boniface Catholic Church will officiate, The ashes will be buried in Memorial Park cemetery following the memorial service. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Mrs. Burrows, the former Shirley L. Sanford was born June 7, 1927, in Sioux City. She married Howard S. Barrows Jan. 4, 1965 in Elk Point, S.D. She had recently retired as customer service manager at Target Department Store.

Survivors include her husband, Howard; two daughters, Kathleen “Kathy” Jones of Springfield, Ill. and Mrs. Larry (Sharon) Susie of Sioux City; her mother, Martha “Tootie” Burrhus of Sioux City and two grandsons, John Susie in the service, stationed at Charleston, S.C. and Brian Susie of Sioux City.
