16 April 2011SIOUX CITY -- Matthew John Reed of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Sioux City, was received into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 13, 2011.
A prayer service will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Ramada Inn, 407 S. Lyons, in Sioux Falls. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Funeral Home in Sioux Falls.
He was born April 21, 1959, in Sioux City, the son of Robert Frank Reed and Catherine Jean Reed (Christian). He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and attended St. Paul's Lutheran School. He graduated from Western Iowa Tech Community College with a degree in landscaping and worked for many years in New Orleans and Tulsa.
Matt loved to fish and spent many hours fishing with his family.
Matthew is survived by his father, Robert Reed and his wife, Joyce; three brothers, Mark and Thelma Reed, Robert and Pam Reed, and Boyd and Barbara Reed; a son, John Edwards; grandsons, Zachary and Jonathon; and a special friend, Kristian Johnstad.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Jean Reed.
