Mapleton, Iowa- Ruby M. Otto, 83, of Mapleton died Tuesday, September 14, 1999, at Willow Dale Care Center in Battle Creek, Iowa.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Danbury, Iowa with the Rev. Glenn Houts III officiating. Burial will be in Liston Township Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mrs. Otto was born October 21, 1915, in Danbury, the daughter of Art and Lottie (Bumsted) Pry.

She married Earl A. Otto on May 26, 1937, in Moville, Iowa. The couple farmed until his death on Feb. 28, 1991. In November 1991 she moved to Mapleton. She entered Willow Dale Care Center in September 1999.

She was a member of United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening and animals.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Sara and Joseph Tarchie of Columbia Beach, Va.: a son and his wife, Bob and Linda of Mapleton; and three granddaughters, Diane Marie Tarchie, Melissa K. Kruse and Rebecca Otto.
