MOVILLE, Iowa -- Myrtle "Eileen" Cooper, 71, of Moville passed away on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, at Moville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Harold E. Werley officiating. There will be a time of fellowship following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Eileen was born Jan. 26, 1940, in Roseburg, Ore., to Rufus and Mae (Miller) Dubell. She graduated from Cottage Grove High School in 1959 in Cottage Grove, Ore. After graduation, she enlisted in the U.S. Army where she trained in the finance office in Fort Meyer, Va.

She was married to Dale V. Cooper on Aug. 17, 1960, in Hyattsville, Md. at Hyattsville Baptist Church. They spent their first year in Aurelia, Iowa, and moved to Oregon in February 1962. They later moved back to Iowa in 1977.

Eileen enjoyed bird watching, and word search puzzles. She had a love for growing flowers and plants, chatting on the computer and most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dale of Moville; four daughters, Diana (Wes) Ossman of Ida Grove, Iowa, Debbie (Ray Plafcan) Cooper of Seney, Iowa, Denise (Larry) Gardner of Bristol, Va., and Dawna (Bryan) Pearse of Moville; 15 grandchildren, Rocky (Teresa Rudolph) Ossman, Anna (Cecilia Marquez) Martinez, Emily, Quinn and Haylee Calamanco, Jennifer (Cort) Byard, Tabitha and Sydney Cantrell, Brent Gardner, Sean, Chad and Ashley Pearse; four great-grandchildren, Kyra and Chloe Rudolph, Dane Ossman, and Noah Byard; five sisters, Brenda Holland, Doris Perry, Sharon Crisp, Sandi Joseph and Sue Burnes; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Todd Dubell; and an infant sister.
