28 October 2001KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Marjorie Opal Bruce, 93, of Kingsley, formerly of Moville, Iowa, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Moville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harold E. Werley officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery in Moville. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bruce was born May 15, 1908, on the farm that her grandfather homesteaded in 1893, four miles east of Moville, the daughter of Raishworth H. and Grace (Tupper) Hannah. She attended and graduated from high school and attended business college in Sioux City. She married Edward Bruce. She was a lifelong resident of the Moville area. She farmed, raised sheep and chickens and was also the secretary at Moville United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Moville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed refinishing furniture, recaning wooden chairs, sewing, crocheting, tatting, upholstery, needlework, collecting antiques and auctions.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Gary and Mary Bruce of Moville; a granddaughter, Laura Ketelson; and a great-grandson, Bruce Ketelson.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Seth, Ralph and Harvey; and a sister, Vina.
