MOVILLE, Iowa -- Maxine Gibbs, 87, of Moville died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at Woodbine Rehab Center in Kansas City, Mo.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church in Moville, with the Rev. Roger J. Augustine officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery in Moville. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a parish vigil at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville.

Maxine was born Oct. 15, 1915, in Albia, Iowa, the daughter of James and Julia (Dailey) Morrison. She was raised in Albia, where she attended school and graduated from Albia High School. She continued her education at a business college and a junior college in Ottumwa.

Maxine married Laurence Gibbs on Nov. 23, 1939, at Albia. He died in 1983 in Sioux City. She worked as a bookkeeper at several different places.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Moville.

Survivors include a son, Richard Gibbs of Moville; a daughter, Mary and her husband, Rick Belcourt of Kansas City; three grandchildren, Chris and Charles Gibbs and Wendy Belcourt; and a great-grandchild, Samantha Belcourt.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, John and Larry Gibbs; and four sisters, her twin, Madeline Sheehan, Viola Cole, Louise Sheehan and Grace Ward.
