PALO, Iowa -- Randall E. "Randy" Jahn, 38, of Palo, formerly of Moville, Iowa, died suddenly Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, at a Cedar Rapids, Iowa, hospital following a sudden heart attack.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, with the Rev. Michael Kroona officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8:30 p.m. today at Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville.

Randall "Randy" Jahn was born Feb. 18, 1964, in Sioux City, the son of Kenneth "Dutch" and Jo Ann Jahn. He grew up in the Anthon and Moville area. He graduated from Woodbury Central High School, class of 1982. After graduation, he attended Iowa State University, receiving a B.S. degree in industrial engineering in May 1988. Following college graduation, he moved to Burlington, Iowa, for one year, where he worked for the Army Ammunition Plant. He then moved to Cedar Rapids and had lived in that area since.

He married Jacey C. Johnson on Feb. 18, 1989, in Minneapolis, Minn. He worked for Cryovac in Cedar Rapids. While working for Cryovac, he earned his M.B.A. from the University of Iowa in 1998. He then took a position at Goss Graphics and was currently employed at Cargill in Cedar Rapids.

Randy enjoyed his family, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Jacey of Palo; his daughters, Mackenzie and Audra, both at home; his parents, Kenneth "Dutch" and Jo Ann Jahn of Moville; two sisters and their husbands, Tammy and Kevin Roling of Rapid City, S.D., and Susie and Brad Briggs of Huxley, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Kendra, Kayla and Kortney Roling, Nathaniel and Sydney Briggs and Madison Smith; and his grandparents, Art and Thressia Klein.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Florence Jahn.

A memorial fund for the benefit of his two daughters has been established in care of the family.
