Myrtle Maxine Fuehrer, 72, of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Sioux City, died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at Luther Manor in Sioux Falls.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Luther Manor. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Funeral Home in Sioux Falls.
Mrs. Fuehrer was born Jan. 19, 1929, in DeSmet, S.D., the daughter of Alben E. and Blanche V. (Cronkhite) Nordland. She was raised in DeSmet and graduated from DeSmet High School in 1947.
She married Donald Fuehrer on Sept. 4, 1949, in Sioux City. The couple made their home in Sioux City, where she was employed with Briar Cliff College for many years. Her husband died in 1969. She moved to Sioux Falls in 1997, and entered Luther Manor.
Survivors include a son and his wife, David and Nancy of Jefferson, S.D.; a daughter and her husband, Dianne and Darrell Gustafson of Renner, S.D.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Carol Collins.
