Alma M. Donnell

Alma M. Donnell, 83, of Sioux City died Wednesday, April 12, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services will be 7 p.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Mr. Ross Ford of Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Arlington Cemetery in Moville, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Donnell was born March 23, 1918, in Moville, the daughter of William Henry and Anna (Miller) Peterson. She graduated from Moville High School in 1936. She married Leonard "Buck" Donnell on Sept. 23, 1938, in Denison, Iowa. He died March 2, 1998, in Sioux City.

She had been a Sioux City resident since 1959. She had worked as a nurses aide for 19 years at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center until retiring in 1979.

She was a member of Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed playing cards.

Survivors include three daughters, Patricia and her husband, Monte Easton of Le Mars, Iowa, Linda VanTuyl of Sioux City, and Kathleen and her husband, Jim Keairns of Sioux City; a sister, Evelyn Connor of Kingsley, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Paul Easton, Michael Easton, Jeramy Ericsson, Jay Williams, Aaron VanTuyl, Brandi Williams, Jamie Dik and Jason Keairns; and eight great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy, and five brothers, Dick, Vern, Harold, Kenny and Leonard.
