SIOUX CITY -- Darlyne Leola Arrow, 74, of Sioux City began her journey to the spirit world Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, at her residence.

Abiding by family wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Anne Scissons as officiant. Interment will be at a later date. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service on Sunday.

Darlyne was born Aug. 19, 1935, in Wagner, S.D., to Guy and Beulah (George) Arrow.

She married Robert Wacheldorf on Sept. 19, 1953, in Sioux City. To this union three children were born, Ron, Cindy, and Chandalynn. Darlyne worked as a cook in several cafes in Sioux City. She completed her family with the birth of her youngest son Scott Sweat.

She was an avid Elvis fan, loved life and lived it to her own liking, and will be missed by the many lives she touched. Darlyne was an enrolled member of the Yankton Sioux Tribe in South Dakota.

Darlyne is survived by her children, Ron (Starla) Wacheldorf, Cindy Ohlendorf (Bradley) and Chandalynn Wacheldorf, all of Sioux City; grandchildren, Amber, Gary, Megan, and Drew; niece, Jeannie (Bill) Pelchat of Sioux City; and all her friends at the Red Room Inn.

Darlyne was preceded death by her parents; brother, Roger; sisters, Elaine Anderson and Anna Bombar; and youngest son, Scott in 2009.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the family.
