SIOUX CITY -- Jacklyn "Jackie" Byrne, 77, of Sioux City went to be with her loving husband and soulmate Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, while resting peacefully at home.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of All Nations, 3100 West 4th Street, with the Rev. Martha Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present at 5 p.m. and a Eastern Star service at 6 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Jackie was born Nov. 24, 1932, in Sioux City, to John B. and Audrey (Hulse) Anderson. She attended Central High School, graduating in January with the class of 1951.

Jackie married the love of her life, John R. "Jack" Byrne, on June 27, 1953 at Whitfield United Methodist Church. To this union was born one daughter, Cindi. Jackie worked at Northwestern Bell until 1956, and was a former member of the Y-wives. In 1986, Jackie and a friend formed Siouxland Crafters at the Salvation Army, and she enjoyed the crafts and the companionship, other than her daughter, this was her proudest accomplishment.

Jackie was a member of Whitfield United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, but had recently been attending the Church of All Nations. She has been a member of Eastern Star Rose Croix Chapter for more than 50 years. Jackie loved spending time at Miner's Bend with her friends and family. She dearly loved vacationing in Gulf Shores, Ala., and especially enjoyed going to the Mardi Gras Parade to collect beads. Jackie was a strong, kind, courageous woman with a heart of gold. She had suffered in constant pain for many years and rarely complained and always kept a smile on her face for her family and friends.

Jackie is survived by her daughter, Cindi of Onawa, Iowa; brother, John B. Anderson and his wife, Joy of Sioux City; nephew, Bruce Anderson and his wife, Natalie; and her niece, Julie May and her husband, Tom.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jack, just last week on Aug. 7, 2010.

Memorials can be made to the Church of All Nations or to the LAMB Productions Theatre, 417 Market Street, Sioux City, Iowa 51103.
