Lucille Marion Kehrberg, the daughter of Karl and Esther (Mether) Teisinger, was born on Feb. 8, 1916, in rural Dunkerton, Iowa. She graduated from Le Mars Central High School.

On Jan. 10, 1941, in Kansas City, Mo., Lucille was united in marriage to Harland Herbert Kehrberg. The couple farmed southeast of Pierson, where Lucille was a homemaker and worked side by side with her husband in the farming operation. In her earlier years, she spent countless hours tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, canning and freezing vegetables, knitting and sewing. Lucille was a member of the Meadow Star United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women's Group and the quilting club at church.

In 1984, Lucille moved to Des Plaines, Ill., to make her home with her daughter, Marion and her two grandchildren, Chris and Lucia. Lucille was extremely active in assisting with the busy tasks within the home for 19 years, and helping immensely with raising her grandchildren. In 2003, she grieved the tragic loss of her only granddaughter, Lucia.

Lucille was a member of the Mt. Prospect United Methodist Church in Illinois. Throughout her life, Lucille treasured any time spent with her family. She loved music, was known for her beautiful penmanship, and until very recently, still took her "100-step walk," almost daily. For the past two years, Lucille was a resident at the Alden Poplar Nursing Home. She delighted in all the social events at the home and the faithful visits from Marion and Chris.

Lucille is survived by her daughter, Marion Kehrberg and her grandson, Thomas Christopher "Chris" Rafter II, both of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; her brother-in-law, Verl Kehrberg of Le Mars, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Preceding Lucille in death was her husband, Harland Kehrberg in 1974; her parents, Karl and Esther Teisinger; her brother, Cecil Teisinger; her infant sister; her granddaughter, Lucia Marion Rafter; and her sisters-in-law, Lucille Teisinger, Mae Teisinger and Lillian Kehrberg.
