10 August 2010SIOUX CITY -- Corinne White, 87, of Sioux City died Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Becker–Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Ralph Shorey, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Washington Township Cemetery, Gravity, Iowa, with the Rev. Ted De Hass officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Corinne was born June 17, 1923, in St. Joseph, Mo., the daughter of John A. and Zetta C. (Sutton) Holloway. She married Carl R. White on Jan. 1, 1942, in Bellevue, Neb. He died Aug. 28, 1977 in Gravity, Iowa. She lived in Bellevue and Gravity before moving to Sioux City in 1986.
Survivors include three daughters, Sarah L. McQueen of Des Moines, Merle Ann Davis, and Nellie and her husband, Duane "Shorty" Martinson, all of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Arthur Willard and Lawrence Allen White; two brothers, Willard and William Holloway; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
