SIOUX CITY -- Sheila M. Morris, 54, of Sioux City died unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Alfred Gilpin Building in Macy, Neb., with Mr. Mitchell Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Omaha Tribal Cemetery. Visitation will continue until service time Tuesday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Macy. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender, Neb.

Sheila was born July 29, 1956, in Sioux City, the daughter of William and Arlene (Horn) Morris Sr. She was one of eleven children, Martin, Debra, David, Sheryl, Elizabeth, Cecelia, James "Greg", John, Joyce and Cathy Morris. She attended the Mission of St. Augustine's, Winnebago Public and Macy Public Schools. Sheila graduated from high school at the age of 16.

She married the love of her life, Anthony Morris Sr. in 1977. She was an excellent homemaker, who raised seven children and three grandchildren. She held various positions for the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska, with her most recent being at the Omaha Tribal Housing Authority.

Sheila enjoyed going to powwows, gourd-dancing, singing karaoke and talking about her children and grandchildren. She loved country music and playing the slots, but most of all, she loved to smile and laugh.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Anthony Morris Sr. of Sioux City; seven children, Anthony Morris Jr. and his wife of Walthill, Neb., Marguerite Morris-Cortez and her husband, Arlena Stabler and her husband, Evette Morris-Hernandez and her husband, and Christopher Morris Sr. and his wife, all of Sioux City, Rayna Osborn and her husband of Germany, Shasta Morris of Sioux City; her mother, Arlene Morris of Sloan, Iowa; 26 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and sister and brothers.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Penn Morris Sr.; her brother, David John Morris Sr.; a brother who died in infancy; and her granddaughter, Rebecca Hernandez-Morris.
