SIOUX CITY -- Donna R. McKenzie, 75, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at a local care facility.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Bruch officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Donna was born on May 17, 1935, in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of William and Genevieve (Spencer) Blake. She attended school in Akron and later Sioux City.

On Nov. 15, 1951, she was united in marriage to Paul McKenzie in Sioux City. Donna worked at several area businesses and with the school lunch program until opening and running her own beauty shop.

Donna enjoyed cooking and always looked forward to the family times during the holidays, especially Christmas. Donna was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Donna is survived by her husband of 58 years, Paul; five sons, Gregory McKenzie and his wife, Sherri of Jefferson, S.D., David McKenzie of Sioux City, Timothy McKenzie and his wife, Teresa of Charleston, S.C., Thomas McKenzie and his wife, Debbie of Sioux City, and Joseph and his wife, Roxanne of Sioux City; a daughter, Deborha Kindig of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, James Blake of Arizona; and two sisters, Shirley Peck of Wichita, Kan., and Patricia and her husband, Lewayne Henderson of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by one infant daughter; her parents; and three brothers, Bill, Glenn and Ronnie Blake.
