SIOUX CITY -- Addison "Al" L. Randall, 89, of Omaha, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at an Omaha nursing home.

Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with the Rev. Silvia Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Addison was born Jan. 20, 1921, in South Sioux City, the son of Addison and Irene (Moore) Randall. Addison was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific.

He married Betty Louise Asay on Nov. 5, 1949, in Sioux City. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2003, in Papillion, Neb. Addison and Betty owned and operated a fruit and vegetable business for 17 years. Addison became the produce supervisor for the Swanson Stores in 1966, and then worked as the produce supervisor for Hy-Vee for 30 years before retiring.

He was a member of Whitfield United Methodist Church and the Tri-State Coachman Camper Club. Addison loved to camp and garden.

Survivors include his son, Gary and wife, Phyllis Randall of Omaha; daughter, Kathleen and husband, Eric Nelsen of Papillion, Neb.; four grandchildren, Jeff Randall, Nick Randall, Brian Nelsen, and Laura Nelsen; a great-granddaughter, Chrysta Randall; three brothers, Don and wife, Vivian Randall, Bill and wife, Betty Randall, and Chuck Randall; and two sisters, Pat Phillips and Betty and husband, Virgil Rice.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and two brothers, Dick and Jim Randall.
