2 November 2010SIOUX CITY -- Shirley M. Schwinck, 68, of Sioux City died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon, Iowa, with the Rev. Brian Danner officiating. Burial will be in the Little Sioux Cemetery, Smithland, Iowa. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.
Shirley Mae Schwinck was born Oct. 1, 1942, at Battle Creek, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd and Katherine (Gotto) Svendsen. She grew up in the Oto and Smithland, Iowa, areas, moving to Sioux City, Iowa in the 1950s. There she worked as a nurse's aide in nursing homes, tended bar, and worked at Weller's Fish Tackle. Due to a trucking accident, she became disabled.
Survivors include a brother and his wife, Raymond and Judy Svendsen of Sioux City; a special friend, Rick Jenkins of Sioux City; along with several nieces and nephews; and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; her parents; and one infant brother.
