SIOUX CITY -- Juanita E. Skoglund, 81, of Sioux City died Friday morning, Oct. 29, 2010, at a local care facility.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Riverside United Methodist Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Tayna Sherrill officiating. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Waterbury Funeral Service is caring for Juanita and her family during this time. Juanita was born in Onawa, Iowa, on April 20, 1929, the daughter of Roy and Ida (Stone) Montgomery. She spent her early years in the Onawa area, and moved to Sioux City as a teenager. She attended Sioux City Community Schools.

She was united in marriage with John E. Skoglund on Aug. 9, 1946, in Sioux City. This union was blessed with six wonderful and caring daughters. John preceded Juanita in death on June 7, 1998, in Sioux City. Juanita owned and operated Skoglund Cleaning Service for many years.

She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. Juanita was a former member of the Abu-Bekr-Shrine Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed all types of crafts, camping, boating, vacationing with her family and friends, and the cabin they owned in Okoboji, Iowa. Juanita loved her grandchildren very much and cherished the wonderful times she shared with them. She was a lover of the many pets that she had during her lifetime.

She will be missed by her family which includes her daughters, Deb Wamberg (Tom) of North Sioux City, Michelle Howard (Leon) of North Sioux City, Pam Blackshear (Larry) of Pottsboro, Texas, Dawn Johnson (Jeff) of Highland Village, Texas, Robin Tague (Cliff) of Denton, Texas, and Renee Edwardson (Heath) of South Sioux City; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; grandson, Jason Johnson; and four brothers; and three sisters.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials in her name be given to Touchstone Living Center in Sioux City.
