ANTHON, Iowa -- Marjorie E. Farber , 88, of Anthon died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Anthon, with the Rev. Andrew Carlson officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Anthon. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.

Marjorie Elizabeth Farber was born Sept. 16, 1922, on a farm northwest of Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of Omer and Dora (Ham) Bueoy. She grew up in the Mapleton-Smithland area and attended school there.

On Sept. 2, 1947, Marjorie married Homer Farber. They had one son, Paul. They farmed in the Danbury and Anthon area until Mr. Farber's death on Aug. 10, 1970. She then moved to Smithland, where she remained until Dec. 2, 1997, moving to Moville, Iowa. She worked as a nurse's assistant at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton for many years. She enjoyed her work and was very dedicated to it.

Marjorie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Anthon. She loved all little children and older people. She loved to read as well as poetry. She enjoyed crocheting and other hand work.

Survivors include one son, Paul Farber and his wife, Deanna of Rantoul, Ill.; a grandson, David Farber and his wife, Amanda of Marion, Iowa; three granddaughters, Patricia Surma and her husband, Joe of Waterloo, Iowa, Tracy Olson and her husband, Kirk of Estherville, Iowa, and Amy Serrata and her husband, David of Bolingbrook, Illinois; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rolland Bueoy of Mapleton, and Robert Bueoy of Onawa, Iowa; and three sisters, Genevieve Moore of Mapleton, Barbara Bumsted of Onawa, and Evonne Farber of South Sioux City.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Omer and Dora Bueoy; a brother, Paul LeRoy Bueoy; and two sisters, Maureta Yockey and Helen Bumsted.
