SIOUX CITY -- Delores L. Murphy, 90, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Delores was born April 15, 1920, in Sioux City, the daughter of James and Mary (Chase) Butler. She grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools. She graduated from Central High School.

She married Harry Eugene Murphy on March 7, 1941, in Sioux City. Harry died June 23, 1999, in Sioux City. Delores was a lifelong Sioux City resident and had worked as a bookkeeper for Automatic Heating and Cooling and Climate Control Corp. in Sioux City.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. Delores enjoyed spending time with her family, including many camping trips, baking, sewing and traveling stateside and abroad with her loving husband.

Survivors include two daughters, Pat Jaminet and her husband, Gerald of Heath, Texas, and Jeanie Craig of Sioux City; two brothers, Dick and Doug Butler, both of Highland Park, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Nellie Bathurst of Sioux City; a son-in-law, Darrell Taylor of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son, William; a daughter, Mary Taylor; a great-granddaughter; and three brothers, James, Jerry and Robert Butler.

Memorials may be made in her name to the June E. Nylen Cancer Center.
