SIOUX CITY -- Malcom Behrens, 82, of Sioux City died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave., with the Rev. Kevin Lee of Morningside Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Malcom Behrens was born July 8, 1928, in Moville, Iowa, to John and May (Malcom) Behrens. He graduated from Jefferson (SD) High School.

He married Maxine Maurer on June 5, 1950, in Sioux City. Mr. Behrens was a route salesman for The Chesterman Co. for 32 years from 1961 until 1993, retiring in 1993.

In his free time, he loved to camp, watch the Minnesota Twins and the Sioux City Explorers.

Survivors include his three sons, Randy and his wife, Diane of Sergeant Bluff, Duane of Sioux City and his special friend, Michaelene Gabel, and Jerry and his wife, Vicky of Merrill, Iowa; one brother, Loren Behrens of Columbia, Mo.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; four brothers, Ted Behrens, Gordon Behrens, Byrl Behrens and Norvin Behrens; and six sisters, Vesta Behrens, Janice Nason, Lenore Banks, Ruth Nason, Coral Palmer and Annabelle Banks.

Pallbearers will be Matt and Troy King, Mike and Nick Behrens, Vu Le and Steve Maurer.
