.HORNICK, Iowa -- Vera V. Graybill, 95, of Mobile, Ala., formerly of the Hornick and Holly Springs area, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at a care facility in Mobile.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Willow Township Cemetery, Holly Springs, Iowa, with the Rev. Catie Newman officiating. No visitation is planned. Willman Funeral Home in Rodney, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.pearsonwoodwillman.com.

Vera Vivian (Metcalf) Graybill, daughter of Roy and Emma (Larson) Metcalf, was born April 3, 1915, in Holly Springs. She was raised and educated in the Holly Springs and Hornick area.

Vera was united in marriage to Veryl E. Graybill on Oct. 10, 1938. They owned a plastic manufacturing company in Omaha until retiring. After retiring, they made their home in Mobile, Ala. Veryl passed away March 9, 2003.

Vera was an avid artist and was a member of the Omaha Nebraska Artists Association.

Vera is survived by her cousins, Nancy Marie Jones of Michigan, Nina Martinsen of Newcastle, Neb., Tom Coover of Savannah, Ga., Joyce Swalley of Rapid City, S.D., Janice Dahl of Payson, Utah; and dear friends and caregivers, Betty and Claude Earl Tagert, Jr; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Millard Metcalf; and husband, Veryl Elwood Graybill
