SIOUX CITY -- Woodrow Tom Ford, 98, of Sioux City died Friday Oct. 29, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Merrill G. Muller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to christysmith.com.

Woodrow was born June 6, 1912, in Sioux City, the son of Thomas and Anna (Stoltz) Ford. He grew up and attended school here in town. He married Dorothy Seloover in 1938. Woodrow farmed in the area. He also owned and operated Cornhusker Tavern for over 40 years.

Woodrow loved spending time with his grandson, Blake. He also enjoyed the outdoors, boating, hunting and fishing. Woodrow and Dorothy had a cabin on McCook Lake and wintered several years in Texas. They also traveled in their motor home.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Terry and Jan Ford of Lincoln, Neb.; three grandchildren, Darcy, Derik and Dominic; six great-grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Louis and Maxine Ford of Kent, Wash.; a cousin and his wife, Michael and Glenda Ford of Sioux City; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Blake Ford; daughter-in-law, Lynn Ford; and three sisters, Joyce, Dorothy and Lucille.
