SIOUX CITY -- Rosemary I. Smith, 75, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at a local hospital.

Services will be 11:30 am Monday at Riverside Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Rose was born on Dec. 1, 1935, in Sioux City, the daughter of William and Mary (Harris) Hayden. Rose was united in marriage to Keith Smith on July 29, 1954, in Prescott, Ariz. They stayed in Arizona for about a year, taking care of her father, who moved there due to his health. Upon returning to Sioux City, Rose obtained her GED and took bookkeeping at Western Iowa Tech.

Rose was a homemaker who enjoyed her family, country music, crafts, crocheting and was a excellent seamstress.

Rose is survived by her husband, Keith; four sons, Myron Smith and his wife, Susan, Larry Smith, Lonnie Smith and Jody Smith, all of Sioux City; two daughters, Connie and her husband, Mark Bauer of Sioux City, and Lori Gabriel of Elk Point, S.D.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ted Hayden and his wife, Karen of Onawa, Iowa, and Fred Hayden and Verna Hayden of Sioux City; three sisters, Martha Derby of Sioux City, Dena Derby and her husband, Allen of Sioux City, and Sheri and her husband, Terry Simpson of Austin, Texas; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jerry and Arthur Hayden.
