SLOAN, Iowa -- Marjorie Buser, 96, of Whiting, Iowa, formerly of Sloan, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Community Church of Christ in Sloan, with the Rev. Richard Moore officiating. Burial will be in Sloan Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa. Condolences may be left on line for the family at www.rushfamilycareservice.com.

Marjorie was born Jan. 8, 1914, in Holly Springs, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Eunice (Kelsey) Ferguson. She lived all her life in the Sloan and Hornick, Iowa, areas. She attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, and the National Business Training School in Sioux City, before entering the business world.

Marjorie and William "Bill" Buser were united in marriage on Sept. 10, 1939. They made their home in Sloan, where Marjorie was secretary at her husband's business, Wraybill Dehy. Bill passed away on Dec. 8, 1977.

She was a member of Community Church of Christ, Athena Chapter 460 Order of Eastern Star, Sloan Golf Club and Abu Bekr Shrine Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include a niece, Patricia Buser Provine; a nephew and his wife, Wray J. and Jean Buser; other nieces and nephews; and her good friends and special family, Jim and Linda Kirkendall and their children, Stacey Mitchell and her family and Jesse and Michele Kirkendall and their family.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and his wife, Carl and Edla Fergeson; and a niece, Cathy Hulme.
