Mrs. John Abraham, 81, Omaha, formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday at a hospital in Omaha.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Shaare Zion Synagogue. Rabbi Martin Berman and Cantor Harry Sterling, both of Shaare Zion and Rabbi Kenneth Bromberg of Beth El Synagogue in Omaha will officiate.

Burial will be in the Independent Farane Cemetery under direction of the Heaton-Rutledge-Gulsrud Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Abraham, the former Bessie Friedman, was born January 10, 1900, in Russia. She came to the U.S. and to Sioux City in 1909.

She married Mr. Abraham October 21 1917 in Sioux City. The couple lived at Danbury and Mapleton, Iowa, prior to moving to Omaha 20 years ago. They owned and operated the Golden Rule Stores and the Midwest Wholesale Grocery.

Mrs. Abraham was a member of Beth El Synagogue in Omaha, Mizrachi Women, Hadassah, and Ort. She was a 50-year member and Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include the widower; a son, Sidney of Omaha; two daughters, Mrs. Sam (Rae) Epstein of Sioux City and Mrs. Hommey Kanter of Duluth, Minn.; two brothers, Sam Friedman of Los Angeles, Calif. and Ray Friedman of Sioux City; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
