Darrell T. Babe, 75, of Sioux City, Iowa, died on March 27, 1993 in Kailua, Hawaii.

He was born on December 1, 1917 in Pisgah, Iowa. He was raised there and worked for a short time in Storm Lake, Iowa; he moved to Sioux City, Iowa, in 1942. He married Kathery J. Coakley on June 1, 1942, in Storm Lake, Iowa. She died on April 27, 1977 in Sioux City, Iowa.

He was employed by the Greyhound Bus Company for 36 yrs. As a ticket agent and terminal manager, he retired in 1977. In 1985 he helped start the North Forty Miniature Golf Course business with his son in Sioux City and Des Moines, Iowa.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Third Degree Knights of Columbus, Council 5660. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Immaculate Conception Credit Union. He was once very active with the Boy Scouts of America Organization.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946.

Survivors include 2 sons, Michael T and Fran of Pisgah, Iowa and James E. and Kathy of Sioux City, Iowa. Three daughters, Patricia and George Kriplean, of Solon, Iowa; Mary Ann and Dennis Crawford of Independence, Iowa and Elizabeth (Betty) Babe, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one brother, Lyle & Dorothy Babe, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, one expected grandchild in May and 1 great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Dennis, his parents Robert & Wilma (Setchell) Babe.

Pallbearers were Dennis Crawford, Dean Gangestad, Darrell Kriplean, George Kriplean, Steve Babe and Mike Larson.

The funeral Mass was held on Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Msgr. Thomas M. Donahoe, Pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
